NEW Triumph Tiger 1200 Review 2022

NEW Triumph Tiger 1200 Review 2022

From the start, it's evident that Triumph's development of the 2022 Tiger 1200 series has been focused on one goal: to outperform BMW's R 1250 GS in every area that might entice a consumer to choose the company. We can't say whether it'll be enough to unseat BMW's constant chart-topper, but regardless of the outcome, it'll be difficult to argue that Triumph hasn't put everything it has into the endeavor.

The Tiger 1200 moniker is carried over from the previous model, but that's about all the bikes have in common. The new model features a purpose-built engine, as well as redesigned chassis, transmission, suspension, electronics, and aesthetics. The goal, according to Triumph, was to create a bike that felt similar to the Tiger 900 but delivered more in every way.

There are five items in the collection, which are divided into two distinct groups. With cast alloy wheels, 19in front, 18in rear, and 200mm suspension travel, the three 'GT' variants are designed for the road. Two 'Rally' motorcycles have 21-inch front wire wheels, 18-inch rear wire wheels, and 220mm of movement, giving them an off-road aspect.

Within those categories, the bikes are divided into two types: 'Pro,' which has a 20-litre tank and sleeker bodywork, and 'Explorer,' which has a 30-litre tank and brawnier aesthetics. Consider BMW's GS Adventure vs the regular GS, however BMW lacks a road-oriented Adventure model to compete with the Tiger 1200 GT Explorer. The fifth Tiger 1200 is an entry-level stripped model simply known as the Tiger 1200 GT, which is devoid of much of the features found on the GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro, and Rally Explorer while still offering a shockingly low price.
