BMW R NINET 2021

 BMW R NINET 2021

BMW's nineT family is set to undergo a significant evolution in 2021. This heritage range has been updated to meet the Euro5 standard; all models have received updates, and the R nineT Pure is now available in the A2 category. It's fascinating!

With the arrival of Euro5, we should expect a complete and easy disappearance of the R nineT family at BMW. But the German carmaker can no longer afford to ignore this segment of the market, which accounts for a significant portion of its revenue and also serves as a gateway into the BMW universe for some customers.

Likewise, the builder and driver has rolled back his sleeves to ensure that this good old flat twin is compliant with the Euro5 standard... And we acknowledge that the Euro4 standard had already failed him. Souhaitons que his work on Euro5 has allowed him to retain some of his personality without having to give up his voice... Even with the boîtes à air, one can occasionally do marvels.

The following are the major changes to the R nineT range for 2021:

.Boxer with air/oil cooling and culasses retracted for a longer pair at mid-range.

.Boxer 1 170 cm3 motor that now meets Euro 5 homologation standards.

.Power and torque: 80 kW (109 ch) at 7 250 tr/min (vs. 81 kW (110 ch) at 7 750 tr/min previously) and 116 Nm at 6 000 tr/min.

.For the first time, BMW R nineT Pure A2 is available to A2 license holders.

.Culasses, couvre-culasses, and tubulures for new conception entrance.

.ABS Pro with Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) optimizes and distributes braking force based on the angle of the series motorcycle.

BMW R nineT 2021: a really retraced boxer engine

When the BMW R nineT was released in 2013, it met the Euro3 standard. She had a classic flat twin engine, which would be phased out with the introduction of Euro4 on the GS, RT, and other models. The R nineT's boxer Euro3 engine was particularly appealing: smooth, coupled, with good traction thanks to a short boîte and a nice reversing pair. The Euro4 evolution was really a crude adaption of the Euro3 engine. The agreement had lapsed. For Euro5, a number of changes have been made to the iconic base engine:

The culasses have been retraced, and the combustion has been optimized. The returns are now significantly better thanks to retraced power curves and coupling – especially in the 4000 to 6000 tr/min range, according to BMW.

The maximum power is now 80 kW (109 ch) at 7 250 tr/min (up from 81 kW (110 ch) at 7 750 tr/min previously), while the maximum torque is still 116 Nm at 6 000 tr/min. The design of the culasses ailettes and admissions bodies has been revised.

Important change: the BMW R nineT Pure's power has been reduced to 95 ch (70 kw) in order to comply with the driving license's A2 standard. For beginners and beginners-to-be, she can be set to 47,5 ch (35 kw). It's a good news for the market. Pure A2 is shown below.
