The new Yamaha R7 was offered to us during a large day of roulage in Spain, which we eagerly accepted. Morning route, afternoon circuit... What are the strengths and weaknesses of this A2-certified sport that has the potential to be extremely popular in 2022.

Yamaha has acquired the R7 at an opportune time; see our brief radiography of the sport category below. Using the MT-07 platform with a reinforced diamond-encrusted chassis on the R7 and the well-known CP2 engine, she positions herself in the general public sport market and is eligible for the A2 category. But Yamaha has made some bold technical choices; will they pay off.
