We did a double take for this test, as we got the keys to both the new F900R and the brand new F900XR on the same day. At 2:00 p.m., the "switch" or "swap" was completed...

The Yamaha Tracer 900 and 700 are two models in this category that are very popular on the market. The BMW F900XR takes aim at these competitors in typical BMW fashion. With a rigourous arrangement of elements, the manufacturing quality appears to be quite satisfactory. The jointures between the various plastics used in the home are flawless. The inside carnage sides are well-kept, though not as well-kept as on a large GT, but that's beside the point. What details might cause the whole thing to come to a halt? Is there a plastic receptacle? It's possible that the engine's visserie is... a rocky outcropping on the right. We also have a double central béquille, which isn't very happy... Otherwise, everything is fine, and the XR signature on the guidon adds a unique touch.

The color palette is diverse: white, red, and blue, with an unusual and successful color scheme. The absence of black or gray coloris, indemodables as well as austères, will be felt by the more traditional buyers.

The moto's silhouette is perfect: dynamic, with a hint of athleticism, but not excessive. Without implying that she is truly unique, she has her own identity and has no resemblance to a Tracer or Versys.
