The Yamaha TMax, the undisputed leader of the European maxi-scooter market, could soon be available in a variety of different variations from the current model. Yamaha might do well with a three-wheeled TMax, an off-road TMax, and a hybrid TMax.

According to rumors coming straight from Japan, Yamaha is planning to expand the TMax line with some unexpected changes. Until far, the TMax range has been very traditional, with scooters with rather basic features. However, three new variants of the TMax are expected to be released soon: a three-wheeled TMax, an off-road version, and a hybrid scooter.

Yamaha is going to expand the TMax series with some surprising changes, according to rumors coming straight from Japan. Until now, the TMax lineup has been extremely traditional, with scooters that have only the most basic of features. Three additional TMax variations, including a three-wheeled TMax, an off-road version, and a hybrid scooter, are anticipated to be available soon. In terms of the TMax with three wheels, it may retain the Tricity's design but be powered by a more sporty engine, such as the 48-cylinder bicylindre found in the current TMax 560. The TMax hybrid could rely on the XMax 300 and Tricity 300 engines, which are monocylindres with 28 cylinders and are connected to an electric motor. Finally, there are currently no plans to release a TMax offroad variant.
