YAMAHA XT660 Z

  YAMAHA XT660 Z

Despite the fact that the XT 660 R and X aren't particularly popular with the French public, who prefer the cylindrée and reasonably priced FZ6 roadster, the diapasons firm is considering a third iteration of its monocylindre trail (excluding the MT-03) by resurrecting the Ténéré moniker, which first appeared in the early 1980s and was made famous by the company's numerous successes at the Paris-Dakar. The head of fourche and the biplace selle, synonymous with the possibility of long-distance tandem travel, distinguish this evasion product, which was unanticipated in 2007.

Despite its rally-raid moniker, the Ténéré deviates from the pure all-terrain trail XTR by weighing 14 kg more and having its suspension debatements reduced from 15 to 10 mm between the front and rear. As a result, it's more of a comfortable baroudeuse model, similar to the old Ténéré. Is it possible to see the impact of a motorcycle's commercial success, such as the BMW R 1200 GS? The price issue for this monocylindre still exists: Obviously more expensive a priori due to its equipment than the base XTR model, which, despite its merits, has already lost favor with the French public, would this Ténéré be able to further bolster the trend in her favor? This model appears to be aimed for German motorcyclists who are big fans of the sport...

Gamme XT: a game of contrasts.

Anecdote esthétique: la nouvelle Ténéré, with its angular lines, evokes the Aprilia Pegaso trail, which is powered by the same engine made by Minarelli. In comparison to the XTR and XTX models, there is a 22-liter reservoir (rather than 15-liters) that extends behind the seat for better mass distribution. This additional autonomy is intended to compensate for the possibility of limited infrastructure. A head of fourche with double optique verticale provides a gauge of protection, and a selle biplace, at separate locations, completes the package in terms of comfort. In place of the XTR's simple disk, a double disk with a diameter of 298 mm is found in front to encase the additional weight (183 kg per second). Derrière.
